  • About Our Products
How do I clean & care for my Bohlin silver products? If your buckle or jewelry is in need of some light cleaning, we recommend using a lint-free polishing cloth. If it needs a little more attention than gentle polishing, use a mild solution of lukewarm water and soap with a soft brush. Avoid the use of harsh chemical dips. How should I store my jewelry? To minimize the chance of scratches, separate your jewelry into a compartmentalized box. Keeping your sterling silver jewelry in air-tight plastic bags or containers also helps minimize tarnishing. Storing your jewelry somewhere with relatively low humidity will also minimize oxidation issues, i.e. don’t leave them in a bathroom or near showers. Are Bohlin ear posts hypoallergenic? All Bohlin ear posts and ear wires are made of nickel-free sterling silver or gold depending on the set. People who are not sensitive to silver or gold should not experience any allergic reaction. Are Bohlin products priced and sold by the metal weight of the design? All Bohlin products are priced based on the intrinsic and artistic value of the design, the labor to create the design, as well as the metal content. Will my order look exactly like the product photos? Please note that each Bohlin piece is handmade by our silversmiths using some of the same equipment used at the original Bohlin shop in 1920. As a result, exact engraving and coloring may differ slightly from one piece to the next.
  • Belt Sizing Tips & Guides
Belt Size for a Trophy Buckle When ordering a belt to be worn with a trophy buckle, order your waist/pant size. · For example, if you wear a 36” waist pant, then a 36-belt size will be a safe bet. Most will find this works best for pants worn at a traditional height–close to the natural waistline. Belt Size for a Ranger Buckle When ordering a belt to be worn with a ranger buckle set or dress buckle, simply “add 2″ to your off-the-rack pant size. · For example, if you wear a 36” waist pant, then a 38-belt size will be a safe bet. Most will find this simple formula works best for pants worn at a traditional height–close to the natural waistline. How to measure a current belt Measuring a well-fitting belt (not curved or stretched out) you already own is the best way to determine your belt size. · Lay the belt on a clean, flat surface. · Start the tape measure at the hole you currently use and measure to the end of the belt, where it meets the buckle (not the end of the buckle). · Belts are measured in inches and you should round up to the nearest inch. · If you measure 36 inches, you will want to purchase a size 36 belt for a trophy buckle or a size 38 for a ranger set. If you are measuring an old belt that has already contoured (has that curve in the back) to your body – we recommend you use the “cloth tape measure” method below to obtain the correct measurement. · If your current belt is curved, you will not get an accurate measurement for your new belt. How to measure your waist · To measure your body for optimal belt size, start by threading a cloth tape measure through the belt loops of your trousers/jeans/slacks. It’s important to stand in a relaxed, natural position–do not push out your belly or suck it in when taking the measurement. · The measuring tape should be snug. Measure in inches and round to the nearest inch. This will be your belt size you will provide to us. · If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape, use a piece of twine or string, mark the spot using the measuring method for a cloth tape. · Lay the string/twine on a flat surface and lay your measuring tape alongside the string/twine. This will give you the proper belt size. Over time, leather belts tend to stretch. It’s good to keep in mind that a belt that fits snug initially will likely wear more comfortably down the road.

These third parties may use the Bohlin name, logo, images, or Bohlin packaging materials to mislead shoppers. Why do I need to have my watch serviced regularly? The movement of your watch needs to be checked and serviced at regular intervals. Changes in the viscosity of the lubricant, or it’s drying up, may create friction and affect the precision of the mechanism causing it to run faster, slower or stop completely. If noticeably fast or slow, the timepiece may need to be serviced. We recommend that you have your watch undergo a complete service once every five (5) years by our Bohlin Watch technician. If your watch has not been worn for several months, it may need to be worn for several days to restore its accuracy How often should I take my Bohlin watch in for servicing? During normal use, a watch is subjected to many environmental stressors, such as vibrations, impacts, dust, water, UV radiation, perspiration or temperature fluctuations. We should not omit to mention the mechanical strain placed on a movement designed to keep the time with absolute precision for every single day for years. We recommend that all watches have a regular maintenance check approximately every two (2) years and a full service approximately every five (5) years.
